Quincy, MA – Dependable Cleaners has announced recent winners in its Read to Ride summer reading contest, sponsored by Dependable Cleaners, The Patriot Ledger, Farina’s Bicycle Center, and Bikes Not Bombs.
The Week 3 winner was Jonah Blouwolff, 11, from Brookline, MA. He picked his new bike from Farina’s Bicycle Center in Watertown, one of the Read to Ride program’s sponsors.
Jonah’s favorite activities include: biking, sledding, Parkour (with Parkour Generations Boston), reading, martial arts (Tae Kwon Do & Brazilian Jiu Jitsu), flying his drone and playing board and card games (currently Magic the gathering).
When asked about his favorite types of books, Jonah said, “…action and mystery fiction books and graphic novels. Some authors I love are Stuart Gibbs and J.K. Rowling. I also love humorous stories”.
Jonah was enthusiastic about school when asked about his favorite subject.
That’s an easy question to answer. My favorite subject in school by far is math. This past winter I participated for the first time in Driscoll School’s math league team where I learned lots of math and helped me to appreciate math more. I also like computer class and hands-on science projects”.
Read to Ride, in its 21st year, is a summer reading program that encourages students, aged 5 to 15, to read during summer vacation, with an incentive of winning bicycles and other prizes. A bicycle winner is drawn weekly between June 4 and Aug. 12 (12 bikes total), plus multiple runner up winners and prizes. Entry forms and contest details will be available at local libraries, South Shore YMCAs, local Boys & Girls Clubs and at all Dependable Cleaners locations, as well as at DependableCleaners.com and ReadtoRideMA.com.
