DIY Stain Remover Hacks: Sweat

Share

Sweat—everybody does it! It’s inevitable, especially in these humid summer months. If you’re in a pinch and can’t get to Dependable Cleaners right away, then try these DIY hacks to get those pesky stains out. If you’re looking for a more permanent fix, then bring the clothing to us! We’ll get them out, no sweat.

VINEGAR: Make a solution of 2 parts white vinegar and 1 part water. Soak the stain for a couple of hours and wash.

BAKING SODA: Make a paste of baking soda and warm water. Using a toothbrush, firmly apply the paste to the area, scrubbing it a little. Let sit for about an hour, then rinse.

ASPIRIN: Crush three pills in a plastic bag and mix with 2 tablespoons  of warm water until a paste forms. Apply to the stain and let sit for an hour.

HYDROGEN PEROXIDE: Mix 2 parts hydrogen peroxide with 1 part dish soap and let the concoction sit on the stain for an hour.

LEMON JUICE: Sprinkle some salt on the stain along with enough fresh-squeezed lemon  juice to soak the stain. Rub until the stain disappears and wash. This can also be used preventatively before washing sweat-prone clothing (like your gym wear), even if you can’t see a stain just yet.
