A mistake many people make is wearing pants (or dresses) that are too long or too short for their shoes. Matching your pants’ length is not only a great way to complement the look of your shoe, but it also prevents fraying at the bottom of your pants.
To do this, choose pants that you wear frequently with a specific type of shoe and hem them to match that shoe’s height (i.e. if you often wear your black slacks with a 2″ heel, hem them so they complement a two inch heel).
You can do this for your boots, sneakers, heels, flat shoes etc. Generally, hems should just graze the tops of your shoes and be from 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch off the floor.
