Packing for College Like a Pro

Share

You’ve already picked your classes, connected with your roommate and brought all your laundry to Dependable to give it the good old wash-dry-fold treatment. Now all you need to do is pack, and you’ll be ready for your first year of college!

Here are some of move.org’s essential rules for packing for a dorm:

  • Pack your things in cardboard boxes that can be broken down and either recycled or stored away and saved for move-out.
  • If you use bins, repurpose those bins to organize any miscellaneous items that you can’t find a home for.
  • When it comes to bedding and towels, bring two sets of everything! (And make sure you know what size bed your dorm provides before buying all your bedding).
  • Pack for the current season. Especially if you’re going home for Thanksgiving, you do not need to empty your closet at home. Bring light layers that you can add once the weather gets a bit brisker.
