Dependable Cleaners: Ahead in Eco-Friendly Dry Cleaning

At Dependable Cleaners, we’ve been Perc-free for over 20 years. In response to recent news about the E.P.A. banning perchloroethylene (Perc), we want to reassure you that we transitioned long ago to a safer, environmentally friendly alternative.

We exclusively use the GreenEarth Cleaning System, a proprietary pure silicone fluid that naturally breaks down into sand, water, and carbon dioxide. It’s so safe that it’s unregulated by the U.S. E.P.A. for dry cleaning or other uses.

Dependable Cleaners has always prioritized the health of our clients, employees, and the planet. By choosing the best eco-conscious cleaning solutions, we ensure your clothes are cared for responsibly while protecting the environment.

What Is Eco-Friendly Dry Cleaning?

Eco-friendly dry cleaning also referred to as green cleaning, is an alternative to professional cleaning that avoids the use of perchloroethylene, a harmful chemical solvent otherwise known as perc.

Although there are alternatives to professional cleaning without the use of chemicals, still only about 20% of professional dry cleaners offer eco-friendly cleaning solutions.  Currently the states of New Jersey, California and Illinois are committed to phasing out the use of perc by 2021-2023, by helping professional cleaners transition to other green cleaning options.

At Dependable Cleaners Our Green Cleaning Options Include:

Wet Cleaning. With wet cleaning items are placed in a computer controlled washer and dryer that gently cleans clothes.  These machines can be programmed based on time, temperature, and mechanical action.  This allows our cleaning professionals to adjust according to the type of fabric and stain.

Our EarthCare Advantage. We use Green Earth Technology which utilizes extreme heat and steam in combination with eco-solv, wet cleaning and hand cleaning to provide expert clean and earth friendly garment care.

These techniques are:

– Pure and gentle on clothes and skin but tough on dirt and stains

– 100% odor-free

– Non-allergenic & non-irritating

– Non-toxic or hazardous to the environment because of its ability to naturally break down into sand, water and carbon dioxide.
