5 Great Things to Do in Boston This Winter

Share

Let’s be honest, we all become homebodies as soon as the first cold day of the winter hits. But why stay cooped up when a New England winter is meant for exploration? Whether you’re traveling from afar or being a tourist in your own town, these Boston activities should be on your bucket list this winter.

Ice Skating

Ice skating is the classic winter activity for a reason. It is fun for all ages. Looking for date night, family fun or a day out with friends? This go-to activity is perfect for all of the above. The Boston Commons Frog Pong offers picturesque and a whole lot of fun. With admission only $6 for skaters 58-inches tall and over, this outing won’t break the bank.

…. And Sledding

Speaking of classic winter fun, Boston Commons is also home to a great sledding spot. Conveniently located downtown it will be easy to find your post sledding hot chocolate destination to conclude a winter day of fun.

Visit the Skywalk Observatory

Winter is a great time to test out the tourist destinations in your own city. The Skywalk Observatory is flocked to by visitors for a reason and it’s time you see what it is all about. There is nothing like 360 ° views of Boston covered in a blanket of snow.

Take a Brewery Tour

Summer nights get all the fun, and it is about time we share some with winter. Warm up your night out with a tour of one of Boston’s many breweries. Home to Samuel Adams Boston Brewery, you can find whatever atmosphere you seek from large-scale operations to local microbreweries.

Plan a Museum Day
Finally, for the days when it truly is too cold, but you must get out of the house. Plan a museum day and include Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts. Or, if you have completely run out of ways to entertain your little ones inside, head out to the Museum of Science for a bit of educational fun.
